Canada Express Entry Canadian Experience Class Program

The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is a category of the Express Entry system that allows individuals who have gained work experience in Canada to apply for permanent residence. The CEC is designed for foreign workers who are already in Canada and have gained valuable experience in the Canadian workforce.

Eligibility Criteria for CEC program:

  • Work experience: You must have at least one year of full-time or equivalent part-time skilled work experience in Canada within the past three years. The work experience must be in an eligible occupation under the National Occupational Classification (NOC) system. The eligible occupations are classified under Skill Type 0, Skill Level A, or Skill Level B.
  • Language proficiency: You must demonstrate proficiency in one of Canada's official languages, English or French. You need to take a language test from an approved agency and score a minimum of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 5 for NOC Skill Level B jobs, or CLB 7 for NOC Skill Level A jobs.
  • Education: You must have completed a Canadian secondary or post-secondary educational credential, or a foreign credential that is equivalent to a Canadian educational credential. An Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report from an approved agency must be submitted to prove the equivalency of the foreign credential.
  • Intention to reside in Canada:You must demonstrate that you have the intention to reside in any province or territory in Canada, except for Quebec.
  • Admissibility: You must meet Canadian admissibility requirements, including security, criminal, and medical checks.
  • If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can create an Express Entry profile and submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the Canadian government. The EOI is a point-based system where you are assigned points based on various factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and adaptability. The highest-ranking candidates are then invited to apply for Canadian permanent residence through regular draws that are held by the government.

The CEC is a great pathway for individuals who have gained valuable work experience in Canada and want to continue living and working in the country. By applying through the CEC, individuals can leverage their existing connections to the Canadian workforce and integrate more quickly into Canadian society.
