Applying to a German Private university?

Check if your Indian university is accredited, for visa success.

As of June 18th, Private Universities that are not fully accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in India cannot be granted access to German universities!!!

There is an accreditation system for Universities in India to make sure that your degree is recognized in Germany.

You can check the Accreditation Status of your University on the ANABIN DATABASE

Here is the link for the database : https://anabin.kmk.org/no_cache/filter/institutionen.html

On this database, each University is accredited with various levels.

A 'H+' accreditation states that your University is FULLY ACCREDITED

A 'H+/-' accreditation is a bit tricky, as your University is NOT FULLY ACCREDITED

The institution's degrees are accredited on a case to case-basis and offers degrees that are equivalent to the German education standard and others that are not.

However with this new update, you cannot study in a German University if your University is accredited with 'H+/-'

So before you apply, check your University's ANABIN ACCREDITATION STATUS!!!

If you are from a Private University that is not accredited, it means that you will not get your APS.

And as a result, you will not get your VISA
