A third university, Singapore Management University (SMU), focusing on business and management courses. Besides this, to meet the International Students Requirement, there are Private Educational Institutions as well.

  • Private Educational Institutions (PEI):
All PEI’s currently need to be registered with the Council for Private Education in order to operate in
In addition to the general structure, 11 fields of study including acting, art conservation and restoration, canon law, dentistry, law, medical analysis, medicine, production and photography, pharmacy, psychology and veterinary medicine, offer long-cycle program only.
Singapore and the registration process take into account the PEI’s corporate governance, quality of provision and information transparency. In addition, PEI’s that take in international students need to have Edu Trust certification. A Fee Protection Scheme has also been established to protect the tuition fees of students studying at PEI. It is a mandate that PEI’s have to either deposit the fees in an escrow account or purchase insurance protection administered by CPE-approved companies.
