Scholarships in the UK
To help students with their tuition costs and living expenses, there are a number of scholarship options which students can potentially avail of having their own requirements and eligibility criteria to be met to get such an award.
Since UK universities are largely government funded, the ability of the universities to offer scholarships is restricted. But some universities do offer scholarships based on the students merit and their academic performance during the course.
Besides the university scholarships there are other external scholarships also which students can avail of which have strict eligibility criteria and deadlines well before the course intake - like the British Chevening scholarship, Scotland Saltire scholarship, DFID scholarship and the Commonwealth scholarship to cite few such examples.
