Canada doubles Cost of Living Requirement and Extends Work rights for international students.

Canada is taking steps to shield International students from rising living costs and housing challenges.

Financial safeguards implemented:

Starting Jun 1 2024, the cost-ol-living requirement for study permit applicants in Canede will double, increasing from CAN 10.000 το CAN 20,635 for a single applicant.

Empowering student employment:

To assist international students further, the temporary measure allowing them to work unlimited hours while studying has been extended until April 30, 2024

Continued flexibility in PGWP eligibility:

Online study will continue to count towards post-graduation work pormit (PGWP) until September 2024 provided it constitutes less than 50% of the total course.
